Quick Scan reads the drive’s own records and brings a recent delete back with its name and folder in seconds. Deep Scan, the one the app recommends, reads the records first and then every sector, so a format or a lost partition does not stop it. RAW Scan ignores the file system and finds files by what is inside them, for a drive Windows calls RAW.

The drive is opened read-only and not one byte is written back. DRE Pro refuses to save recovered files onto the drive they came from. Clone & Migrate is the one tool that writes, to the target you pick.
Housekeeping files, lock files and the Recycle Bin’s own records stay out. Files the drive has already erased are counted and named, not listed as if they could come back.
