Disk ImageOne Careful Copy Beats Ten Risky Scans.
A failing drive has only so many reads left in it. Scan it twice and you may use them all up. A disk image is a full copy of the drive in one file. Make it once, put the weak drive away and run every scan on the copy, as many times as you like.
The image holds whatever was on the drive: NTFS, exFAT or FAT partitions, scanned the same way.
Copy the weak drive to an image file, then scan the copy instead of the drive.
When the drive is weak, the safest scan is the one run on a copy. Make the image once, scan it as often as you like.
The Tools That Help Here
Copies the whole drive to an image file on another drive with enough space.
Opens the image and scans it with Quick, Deep or RAW Scan.
Once the image is made, the weak drive does not need to be touched again.
Try a different scan on the copy any time, with no risk to the drive.
Worth Knowing Before It Happens
- Save the image to a healthy drive with at least as much free space as the weak drive's size.
- Do not save the image to the drive you are copying.
- Keep the image until you have saved every file you need from it.
