Three Rules Before Any Scan
These hold for every situation on this page. They cost nothing and they decide more than any software does.
- Stop writing to the drive. Every new file can land on top of one you are trying to save.
- Do not format it and do not let Windows "repair" it, until your files are safe somewhere else.
- Save what you recover to a different drive. DRE Pro will not let you save onto the one you are scanning.
